The church was founded in the13th century ["Sovereign City of London Churches", Betjeman,J. (Pitkin, Andover 1967 reprinted 1992) ISBN 0853725659] , had a vestry and court yard bequeathed in 1428 and a stained glass montage added in 1628 ["Vanished Churches of the City of London", Huelin,G (Guildhall Library Publications, London, 1996) ISBN 0900422424] .
