Daniel Goldlist

Eli Daniel "Squid Surprise" Goldlist is the current #1 ranked cribbage player in the world. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on October 18, 1977.Daniel has won 28 gold medals (as of August 2008) at the Cribbage Jamboree in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Early life

Daniel learned to play cribbage in Grade 10, at Earl Haig Secondary School in North York, Ontario from the great Robert A. "Nibsmonger" Laird himself. After studying the game for several weeks, Daniel (along with Rob) decided to found Cribbage Inc. At the time, it was merely a small group of like-minded cribbage-playing friends, but quickly spread to become the most powerful cribbage organization in the western hemisphere.

Cribbing Accomplishments

In 1993, Cribbage Inc. flew the Cribbage Copter to its first Cribbage Jamboree in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Expectations were low, with most of the players simply hoping to meet new people, and strengthen their cribbing skills. It was quite the surprise to the cribbage world when both Daniel and Rob won gold medals in singles (psycho and purist varieties, respectively), and won a bronze medal in Doubles.

That started an unprecedented run of championships that continues to this day.

[http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill/5927 Cribbage Inc.] was officially formed by Robance Goldner in 1992, but it was widely known that he was actually an amalgram of the four real founders, ROBert A. "Nibsmonger" Laird, LaurANCE "Benevolent Benefactor" Yap, Daniel "Squid Surprise" GOLDlist and Jon "Phlegmwad" ZeNER.

While in existence since 1992, it wasn't until 1994 (after its success at the 1993 Cribbage Jamboree in December) that Cribbage Inc. became a true force.

By the time Cribbage Inc. hit the internet in 1996, it was the most powerful Cribbage organization in the western hemisphere.

In 1997, at the request of one of his members (Tom "Lord of Slang" Dalzell) Daniel and his co-founders created an extensive [http://www.geocities.com/timessquare/alley/1542/index.html Cribbage Gloassary] part of which was published in Tom's slang compendium, "The Slang of Sin".

As Greater President of Cribbage Inc., Daniel has won 26 gold medals, expanded the membership into the hundreds (if not thousands), and been interviewed on live radio (ABC in Melbourne, Australia as well as CBC in New Brunswick).
