Jean-Charles Dei (born 1961 in
Bamako ) is a Malian official working for theUnited Nations 'World Food Programme .After assignments in
Guinea , theDemocratic Republic of the Congo , andChad , he was appointed in 2005 asWFP director inCentral African Republic , amidst a humanitarian crisis that threatened the lives of thousands.
