Philippine Normal University - Mindanao Campus ROTC Unit (Army ROTC)

A college-based military training unit for future Reserve Officers and Reserve Enlisted Personnel of the Philippine Army in the Province of Agusan del Sur, Philippines.

Training Ground

This ROTC Unit is the first and only reserve army training ground in the entire province of Agusan del Sur which is hosted by the Philippine Normal University - Agusan (Mindanao) Campus in the small town-capital of Prosperidad.

Corps of Cadets

Cadets on this ROTC unit were known as the "Musketeers". A student organization for cadets in the campus named "Musketeer Corps of Cadets" is headed by a "Supremo" (Supreme) who is tasked to organize extra curricular activities for the cadets' socio-military life, physical fitness and military science tactical activity. Main purpose is to develop leadership, patriotism and confidence among cadets.

The Cadet Corps' motto is "Tolerare", a Latin word which means "To endure".

Host University

Philippine Normal University - Mindanao Campus is a branch school campus of the Philippine Normal University-Manila located in the province of Agusan del Sur. It is located just alongside the valley of Gibung River in Prosperidad. This University is an exclusive teacher-training institution.

ROTC Unit

PNU-MCROTC Unit is under the training supervision of the 1002nd Community Defense Center (1002CDC), 10th Reserve Command Defense Group (10RCDG) located in Camp Democrito O. Plaza, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. 10RCDG is a regular army unit of the Philippine Army under the Reserve Command.

Training Courses

There are two courses being offered at the Philippine Normal University - Mindanao Campus ROTC Unit, the Basic Military Science and the Advance Military Science Courses. Basic course is for the mandatory training of college students as Cadet Enlisted Personnel who will become part of the Ready Reserve Battalion in the province of Agusan del Sur upon graduation from college. While the advance course is for college students who wish to pursue a career in the Armed Forces of the Philippines as a Reserve Officer or an active Regular Officer through further training i.e. in Officer Candidate School.
