Georg Eduard von Rindfleisch (
December 15 ,1836 - 1908) was a Germanpathologist who was a native of Köthen (Anhalt). He studied medicine inWürzburg andBerlin , earning his doctorate in 1859. After attaining his degree he was an assistant toRudolf Virchow , and later practiced medicine inBreslau ,Zurich andBonn . In 1874 he attained the chair of pathology at theUniversity of Würzburg .Rindfleisch is remembered for his work in the field of
histology , and wrote a highly influential work on pathological histology that was later translated into English. He was one of the leading advocates of scientific "neo-vitalism".Associated eponyms:
