Richard B. Stamps (born
1942 ) is an associate professor ofanthropology atOakland University and Chair of The AmbassadorLeonard Woodcock Legacy . He is an expert on archeology andcultural anthropology ofTaiwan andChina . He is known by his Chinese name Yin Yinyin ( _zh. 尹因印;Pinyin : Yĭn Yīnyìn).Stamps was born in
Oakland, California . He grew up in theSan Francisco Bay area. He served as a missionary forThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan from1962 to1965 .Stamps earned bachelors and masters degrees in archaeology from
Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in anthropology fromMichigan State University . His thesis was an archaeological survey of the Pʹuli Basin in West Central Taiwan.From
1994 to1997 Stamps served as president of the TaiwanTaipei Mission of the LDS Church. He later served as Chairman of 50th Anniversary of the Mormon Church on Taiwan Committee. His article "Tools Leave Marks: Material Analysis of the Scotford-Soper-Savage Michigan Relics" ["BYU Studies", Vol 20, no. 3. p. 2] deals with supposed ancient materials found in
Michigan in1894 , called theMichigan relics . United States andMexico .
