Kalanderpur

Kalanderpur is a village located in Mehanagar taluka of Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. This village is suppose to be developed by Dara Shikoh, who was the eldest son of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. A sufi saint Shah Kalander to whom this village was dedicated rescued Dara's army from Cholera epidemic during returning from one of his expedition.
