- John DuPret
John DuPret is an English
erotic /fetish photographer , whose work has appeared in "Secret Magazine", the new "Secret Anthology" and in various books created by the Erotic Print Society. The Erotic Print Society have also published a book devoted to his photography, entitled "Sirens".DuPrets work is not stereotypical. His women are larger than life, often more mature than the models seen currently in erotic imagery.
His work is distinguished by an intense richness, with an almost
baroque feel achieved by the use of painted backgrounds and special props, all created by DuPret. As well as a photographer, DuPret is a painter and illustrator whose work has appeared in galleries in the UK, France, Australia and New Zealand. He works in Surrealist, Orientalist and Anamorphic themes, usually exploring the energy of the Golden Section in medieval paintings. This use of energy and synergy is the foundation of all his work.
He is also a stereo-photographer and uses visual layering of props in everything he does. He spends a lot of time planning shoots, painting backgrounds and making visual and body props.
He has a close friendship with
Irina Ionesco and acknowledges the influence of her surreal, sometimespagan fetish imagery. DuPret works in isolation and lives near Brighton, England in a Victorian apartment overlooking the sea, with his wife and their dog.He is married to Linda DuPret, the creator of the book "Dark Sex", which looks at French erotic and Fetish photographs of the 1920s.
