The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra is the award-winning, internationally acclaimed 16-piece Jazz band that plays every Wednesday night at Detroit's newest Jazz club, Cliff Bells ( [http://www.cliffbells.com] ). The SGJO is led by Scott Gwinnell, a pianist, trombonist, composer, and arranger based out of the Detroit area. The group plays original music of his as well as other band members, and features some of the best jazz soloists in the midwest.

Highlights:

The SGJO performed the 2007 Detroit International Jazz Festival.

The SGJO is playing with young trumpet sensation, Dominick Farinacci at Cliff Bells in Sept. 2007

The SGJO performed with Dave Liebman at the IAJE in Toronto, Canada in 2002.

The SGJO released its first CD, Basement Vibes, featuring arrangements by Gwinnell as well as Detroit trumpet legend, Marcus Belgrave.

The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra is an example of the new generation of jazz musicians carrying on the tradition while at the same time, adding something new to the scene. Their performance at the Detroit Jazz Fest was inspiring. They are destined for big things.
