He signed a new two-year contract with Rushden & Diamonds in the summer of 2007.cite news| url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rushden_and_diamonds/6625419.stm| title=Shaw earns new Diamonds contract |date=2007-05-04|publisher=BBC Sport|accessdate=2008-07-16]

Shaw made 35 appearances in the 2007–08 season but his contract was cancelled by mutual consent in July 2008 after both the club and Shaw felt that he would not have a regular place in the first team in the 2008–09 season.cite web|url=http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=43762&seasonid=137|title=Games played by Tom Shaw in 2007/2008|work=Soccerbase|publisher=Racing Post|accessdate=2008-07-16] cite news| url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rushden_and_diamonds/7506462.stm| title=Rushden add midfielder McGuinness|date=2008-07-15|publisher=BBC Sport|accessdate=2008-07-16]
