Philippines . According to the2000 census, it has a population of 46,548 people in 9,302 households. Canlaon is located 168 km from the provincial capitalDumaguete . It is bordered on the east by Vallehermoso and on the south by Guihulngan.Canlaon is home to the highest peak in the province,

In 1942, the Japanese Imperial forces entered in Canlaon city.
In 1945, entered by the Philippine Commonwealth troops liberated in Canlaon city together with the Filipino guerrillas fought by the battles attacked from the Japanese troops in the
