Lawrin Armstrong is an associate professor at the
Centre for Medieval Studies ,University of Toronto . As of September, 2007, he is the acting director of the Centre, to be replaced in 2008 by John Magee, the current acting chair of the Classics department.He is an expert in the issue of late-
medieval Europe anbanking . Among his published articles are "The Politics of Usury in Trecento Florence: The Questio de monte of Francesco da Empoli."
