- The Aerovons
The Aerovons were formed in 1966 in
St Louis ,Missouri . A 1967 demo record was heard by a representative ofCapitol records . In spite of an offer to record inLos Angeles , the group held out hope that they could record inLondon , the recording home of their heroes,The Beatles . In 1968 they travelled to London twice, receiving offers from bothEMI andDecca . In 1969, the band returned to London and recorded an album atAbbey Road studio. When two members of the band quit the group,EMI decided not to release the album. Two singles were released byParlophone , but neither had significant sales. With the lack of success, the band split up, and the album was not released until a CD release in 2003 byRPM .Members
