Virtual mixer

Virtual mixer

A Virtual Mixer is a software application that runs on a computer or other digital audio system. It provides the same basic functionality of a digital mixing console. It can mix audio inputs from live sources or the outputs from tracks in a sequencer. If the audio hardware supports it, the virtual mixer can also provide routing to multiple outputs. As with a DMC, the user has control over volume and pan as well as effect plugins such as, EQ, compression and reverb using plugins in Audio Unit or VST format.
