Australian Labor Party MP serving the role of Minister for Energy, Science and Innovation. He is the current Member for Cockburn.Born in
Whyteleafe, Surrey in 1956, he arrived in Western Australia in 1980, and joined the Australian Labor Party in 1981, and got elected as the member for Cockburn in 2001.During Gallops terms as premier he served in the role of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Midwest, Wheatbelt and Great Southern, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Environment, and Heritage and Water Resources.
In 2005, he was appointed to Cabinet and attained responsibility for Housing and Works and Heritage, and as Minister Assisting the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure.
In 2006, under Alan Carpenter's new cabinet he became the Minister for Energy, Resources, Business and Enterprise.
