Souleymane Beye (born 1971) is a Senegalese official with the
United Nations .Beye has spent most of his life in
Rome andLondon .Fact|date=November 2007The first part of his career was with the
World Food Programme , for which he worked inGuinea and theSudan . During his work in theSudan , and specifically in theNuba mountains ofSouthern Sudan , he played an important role in improving the nutritional conditions of locals, amidst the devastation that followed from over 20 years of war. United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and became head of the OCHA office inBangui ,Central African Republic , until December 2006.
