Western Avenue (a.k.a.; Western Avenue & 18th Place) is a station on Metra's BNSF Railway Line. The station consists of two side platforms for outbound and inbound trains. The station has no station house, though shelters are provided. Amtrak and Burlington Northern Santa Fe trains run on tracks parallel to the station. Western Avenue station is located near the Western (CTA Pink Line) on the Cermak Branch of Chicago 'L''s Pink Line formerly known as the Douglas-Loop Service, as well as the Western (CTA Blue Line Congress branch). It is also located near an overpass for the CSX & Norfolk Southern railroads and a BNSF Railroad Yard.
