Roma is a city in the
Maseru District ofLesotho some 34 kilometers south-east ofMaseru , the capital of Lesotho. The Roma valley is broad and is surrounded by a barrier of rugged mountains which provides magnificent scenery. Founded in 1860 by missionaries, Roma is home to theNational University of Lesotho and has about 8,000 inhabitants.Threre are around 8 schools which are situated outside the National universiy of lesotho. Christ the King High school, which is a boys school was the first college in the country. It was run by the Brothers of The Sacred Heart. Years later CKHS became a high school only. There is also St. Marys High school, which is a girls school. There is a non government hospital which is run by CHAL called St. Joseph Hospital, Roma. It also has a nursing school.There is a mountain called PEACE CORPS mountain, it was named after the US PEACE CORPS, as they used to climb it many a times. There are two dianosoure foot prints, one of them which can be found inside the National University of Lesotho.
