footnotes=The Farmers' Union of Wales (FUW) ( _cy. Undeb Amaethwyr Cymru (UAC)) is a member organisation, and was formed in
1955 with one basic aim - to protect and advance the interests of those who derive an income from Welsh agriculture. The FUW is an independent Union which values the freedom to run its own affairs. It can advance the views of farmers in Wales without fear or favour, unfettered by sectional interests.
Since its establishement in 1955, the FUW has been given the official right by Government to represent and speak on behalf of Welsh farmers. The Union has done so at the highest level - at the National Assembly, Whitehall and Brussels.
The FUW has a network of County and local offices throughout Wales where specialist FUW officers provide expert local advice.
The FUW has the freedom to formulate independent policies, but is always willing to co-operate with others for the common good of Welsh agriculture.
The FUW has permanent and regular Committees covering all issues that are of importance to Welsh farmers.
The FUW has Independent access to decision makers in the National Assembly, Westminster and European Union.
A General Insurance service is available to all Members via a field force of 33 Area Officers, who help select appropriate policies to meet the members' requirements from a panel of specialist agricultural insurers. The FUW prides itself that a competitive rate is available for almost every cover a member may need - Farm Buildings, Stock and Machinery, Motor, Agricultural and Commercial Vehicles, Liabilities plus Contractors', Motor Trade, Engineering, Pet Cover, Travel, Private Dwellings and Contents.
The FUW prides itself on personal, specialist service from a local base.
