Nilda Pedrosa is currently the Assistant Dean for Development & External Affairs at Florida International University College of Law.[1]

Background
She is a Miami native and a graduate of Florida International University and of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy High School.
She has served as a regional director for former senator Connie Mack III as well as the Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of State for the Bush administration.[2] In the run up to the 2004 elections, she served as Political Director for the successful Martinez for Senate campaign. Between 2005 and 2010, she served as Senior Policy Advisor to former Florida U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and as Chief of Staff to Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida.
Most recently, she took on the position of Dean for Development and External Affairs at Florida International University College of Law.
Cuba Lobby
She is a prominent member of the Cuban-American lobby and is an active member of Cuba Democracy Advocates. She was one of the staff members responsible for working on Cuba policy issues in both the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. [3][4]
Immigration
She was the leading member of Senator Martinez's staff on immigration issues, and spearheaded his efforts to obtain passage of comprehensive immigration reform in the United States Senate in 2006 and 2007. To that end, she spoke at various forums on the issue including the National Council of La Raza and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
Florida Judicial Nominating Committee
She was a member and past chair of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Nominating Commission, as an appointee of former Governor, Jeb Bush.
She was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to serve as a member of the Florida Third District Court of Appeal Nominating Commission.
Community Involvement
She is also a leading member of the Miami Chapter of the Federalist Society and is an active member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.[5] She is also involved with the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center.
