Sports College .Poltair School is the only secondary school in
Cornwall to boast a full student radio station, Inferno Radio.Its music department has three members of St Austell based band The Replicas.
It has educational links with schools in
Dithmarschen ,Germany , notably theGymnasium Heide-Ost .The school is undergoing a £5 million redevelopment programme.
The headteacher until July 2007,
Heather McIlroy , increased the schools GCSE pass rate by 16% in 2 years. Stephen Tong became headteacher in April 2008.In 2007, Poltair School held its Centenary, which included guided tours of the school, a service at St Johns Methodist Church, and celebrations at St Austell's
