website=http://www.salero.euSALERO (Semantic AudiovisuaL Entertainment Reusable Objects) is a European research project funded under the
Sixth Framework Programme of theEuropean Commission and carried out by 13 commercial and academic partners from six European countries.cite web|url=http://cordis.europa.eu/ist/kct/salero_synopsis.htm|title=Knowledge & Content Technologies: SALERO - Semantic AudiovisuaL Entertainment Reusable Objects|accessdate=2007-08-24]The project investigates the production of digital content to cross-platform, re-usable media and provide "intelligent content" for games, web-animation, movies and broadcast. The SALERO project team aims to create
ontologies for describing media content and vocabularies to produce tools for creating and managing multimedia objects and for re-using them in different contexts than the ones originally defined. Examples include aspeech corpus for computer-generated character animations, automatic identification of emotion in speech and text-to-speech (TTS) in different languages. [W. Haas, G. Thallinger, P. Cano, C. Cullen, and T. Buerger, " [http://ftp.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/Publications/CEUR-WS/Vol-233/p55.pdf SALERO: Semantic Audiovisual Entertainment Reusable Objects] ", "Proceedings of the first international conference on Semantics And digital Media Technology (SAMT)", December 6-8, 2006, Athens, Greece. Retrieved on 2007-08-24.] A separate aim is to develop methods for efficiently retrieving images, audio and behaviour patterns from large datasets.Trivia
