Recurring elements of the series introduced

* Miyu's sidekick, Larva, is presented as a cloaked, masked powerful fighter who actually does most of the combat against the Shinma.
* Shiina, Miyu's cute bunny-like telescope-eyed friend, also makes its appearance.
* The Shinma-of-the-week, who typically knows about the Guardian and claims she is no better than any Shinma.
* The disguise of the Shinma which is a small-scale reflection of its true nature.
* A misfit and weak human which becomes a favorite target for the Shinma.
* The final charring of the enemy by Miyu's flame attack, following the phrase "Stray Shinma, to the Darkness".
* The very selective choice of a human victim by a compassionate Miyu to relieve his/her pain from the cruel world.
