Gerard Casey (Irish republican)

Gerard Casey (died April 4, 1989) was a member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, 1st North Antrim Brigade.

In October 1988 Gerard Casey's home in Rasharkin (Ros Earcáin) was raided by the Royal Ulster Constabulary. While there they removed a legally held shotgun. Casey was charged for possession of explosives, and was taken away to Castlereagh. On April 4, 1989, members of the Ulster Volunteer Force loyalist paramilitary entered the home and fatally shot Casey as he was asleep in his home. The funeral was kept private and for the family.
