Wonderfest

Wonderfest

Wonderfest is a public access science event that hosts a series of debates on topics of scientific controversy. The topics are varied, covering astronomy, biology, cosmology, physics, etc. Wonderfest is held annually in the San Francisco Bay Area, usually around early November.

Wonderfest's broad goals are described by its mission statement: Through public discourse about provocative scientific questions, Wonderfest aspires to challenge unexamined beliefs, stimulate curiosity, promote careful reasoning, and encourage life-long learning. Wonderfest achieves these ends by presenting series of scientific events to the general public. At most of these events, pairs of articulate and accomplished researchers debate compelling questions at the edge of scientific understanding.

Wonderfest is the brainchild of Tucker Hiatt, a High School Physics Teacher at The Branson School in Ross, California.
