Afghan Football Support Organization

Afghan Football Support Organization

Afghan Football Support Organization (AFSO) was founded on March 9 2007 in California. It is a non-profit organization working to revive and sustain all sporting activities - particularly football (soccer) in Afghanistan.

Headed by Sadullah Ahmadzai - former national team goalkeeper for Afghanistan - a number of former players and non-national team members took the initiative to establish AFSO.

Due to the last three decades of war and the upheaval and turmoil associated with war, Afghanistan’s social, economical, cultural, and political infrastructures along with sports have suffered tremendously.

AFSO plans to provide financial and emotional support for soccer players and clubs in Afghanistan. And to engage in active participation with Afghan athletes and to revitalize sports, particularly soccer in Afghanistan.

Objectives

* To encourage, promote and support talented athletes in and outside of Afghanistan.

* To establish unity and sportsmanship among athletes and provide opportunities to participate in tournaments in and outside of Afghanistan.

* To facilitate coaches in Afghanistan and to invite Afghan athletes and or coaches abroad for training.
