Cardita aoteana " and is not winged posteriorly. The posterior radial ribs are densely scaly and linear spaced.Coloration is uniformly light yellowish-brown, with a smooth interior.
Length is up to 14 mm, and thickness up to 10 mm.
The similar but much larger species, "Cardita aoteana", is found around the whole New Zealand coast.
