"The Adventures of Patsy" is a newspaper comic strip which ran from 1935 to about 1954. It was created by Mel Graff and was syndicated by Associated Press. This strip has the distinction of introducing the first costumed Super hero to the comics. One of the early supporting characters the Phantom Magician may have been the first superhero in comics.

The storyline of the comics revolved around Patsy, a five year-old girl, who was carried away in a kite to the magical kingdom of Ods Bodkins. She is usually accompanied by the Phantom Magician, a handsome masked man. Upon their return to Earth, the Phantom Magician begins wearing normal clothes and assumes the identity of Phil Cardigan, Patsy's uncle. Later, the story is situated in Hollywood, when Patsy becomes a young movie actress, and Uncle Phil takes on the job of screenwriting. Uncle Phil is eventually written out of the strip, and Patsy's new sidekick becomes Skidd Higgins, a Hollywood agent.

Mel Graff left the strip in 1939. After a succession of artists and writers including Charles Raab, the strip finally ended in 1954.
