Peithias was a democratic leader of Corcyra during the Peloponnesian War [Thucydides, History of the Peloponnesian War/Book 3, 70. (2007, April 11). In Wikisource, The Free Library. Peithias won the charge and accused then five of the richest of his accusers "... of cutting stakes in the ground sacred to Zeus and Alcinous; ..."
