Sonja Smolec (born 1953 in
Pula ,Croatia ) is an artist, writer, and poet. From 1956 to 1985 she lived inZagreb , and currently resides inVelika Gorica .Beginning at an early age, Smolec cultivated an interest in writing and painting. While in secondary school, she was active in extracurricular programs which included serving as a student representative within the school's library. Additionally, her writings were occasionally published in school periodicals. Smolec was, at one time, a member of the
art group '69', but eventually neglected her interest in painting due to family commitments.In 2002, "Tajna ima krila", Smolec's imaginative children's book, was published. With an intended audience of children ages six to twelve, the work assumed a unique perspective in terms of how young people see the world. It also incorporates some paintings for kids. Author of the paintings is Dalibor Prstacic.In 2006 S. Smolec has two book published. A book of poetry "Life's Echo" written on English language and
e-book for kids ages six to twelve, "Kamen Tvrtko", written onCroatian language . It contains seven stories. It incorporate paintings from Veronika Prvonozec and primary school kids paintings.Novel for children and youth, a thrilling story, "Kineski zvoncici" (Chime Bells), written on
