V. T. Krishnamachari

Sir V.T. Krishnamachari (1881 – 1964) was an Indian bureaucrat. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and contributed greatly to the First Two Five Year Plan.

He served as the Dewan of Baroda for seventeen years from 1927 to 1943 and was later the Prime minister of Jaipur and was involved in the appointment of Dr. Radhakrishnan, later to become President of India, to the "The Sayaji Rao Chair of Indian Culture and History".

He was a delegate to all the three Round Table Conferences and was a delegate to the assembly of League of Nations during the years 1934 to 1936. He was knighted in the year 1933.

He was staunch in his support for the major Indian Princely states to join the Indian Union. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly.

His daughter-in-law was one of the founders of Vidya Mandir a well-known Chennai school.
