Shilpa Shukla

Shilpa Shukla is an actress known for playing the role of Bindiya Naik, a member of the Indian women's national hockey team, in the sports-oriented movie Chak De India, starring Shahrukh Khan. Shilpa has also acted in award winning movies such as Khamosh Pani "(International Title: Silent Waters)" and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. She is currently shooting for Star Gold's "Sabse favourite kaun" with co-stars Chitrashi Rawat and Tanya Abrol.

Personal life

She was born in Bihar and brought up in New Delhi. Her brother Tenzin Priyadarshi (originally Priyadarshi Shukla) is a renowned monk and is currently the Buddhist Chaplain at MIT. Her father N.K. Shukla is a senior Income Tax official. She attended Delhi Public School, RK Puram till Class XII, then went to Miranda House. She started her acting career with eminent theatre Director Arvind Gaur of the Asmita Theatre Group, where she met her would be husband Mohit Tripathi, a talented Young actor of Asmita. Her major plays are Mahesh Dattani's Final Solutions, Tara Deshpande's Antim Diwas, Ashok Lal's Ek Mamooli Aadmi and Neil Simon's Log-Baag.

She is married and stays in Mumbai.
