Scalloway Islands

Scalloway Islands

The Scalloway Islands are in Shetland opposite Scalloway on south west of the Mainland Haswell-Smith, Hamish. (2004) The Scottish Islands. Edinburgh. Canongate.] . They form a mini-archipelago and include:

* Burra (two islands linked by bridge to each other and Trondra)
** West Burra
*** Kettla Ness, which is connected to West Burra by a tombolo
** East Burra
* Hildasay/Hildesay
* Linga (not to be confused with numerous Shetland islands of the same name)
* Oxna
* Papa, Shetland
** West Head of Papa (tidal)
* South Havra
* Trondra (linked to Mainland, and Burra by bridge)

St Ninian's Isle, connected to the Mainland by a tombolo, is not far to the south.
