Patricinio-Sevilla

History

The Patricinio-Sevilla clan of the Philippines is a very affluent political and industrialist clan in the south. The family patriarch Don Carlos Jose Cordoba-Patricinio is from an underprivileged town of Andorra at the tip of Spain, near the border of France. In 1787 He went back to the Philippines with his stunning Filipina wife Carmela Rosana Huesca together with their only child Carlos Jose Huesca-Patricinio II. They established a modest home near Batangas province facing the Tayabas bay in Quezon Province. Carlos Jose Cordoba-Patricinio started a business in the area selling pottery and clay tiles for the roof of the houses. He later established a 50 hectare horse farm for breeding horses and selling them to those who can afford them, back then, including the military and government officials. This is his stepping stone in entering Philippine politics. Through politics and business the family became very wealthy. They supply 80% of all the horses that the Spanish army uses.

Present

Although, today, the family remains a strong political ally of the local politicians, including the Pajarillo Family, however they never returned to politics and instead they focused on their vast business interest in the Philippines. But they remain one of the wealthiest and influential businessmen in the country.
