August 16, 2007Mirco Lorenzetto (born 13 July 1981 in Vittorio Veneto) is an Italian racing cyclist with UCI ProTeam Astana. He has won victories in the Tour Méditerranéen 2007, the Tour of Sardegna and Giro del Friuli in 2009.
Lorenzetto became a professional cyclist in 2004. His first victory came in 2007, when he won a stage in the Tour Méditerranéen, in a close sprint over Daniele Bennati.[1]
The year 2009 started good for Lorenzetto, as in March he already had three victories.[2] In April 2009, during the Ronde van Vlaanderen, Lorenzetto crashed and was taken to hospital,[3] but a few days later he could leave the hospital without serious damage.[4]
