= History =

The Cathedral School in Växjö has a very long history. It is among the oldest schools in Sweden, going as far back as the year 1340.

The school received the right to become a high school ("Gymnasium" in Swedish) in 1643 and thus became the sixth Swedish high school. Today it has 1300 students and five educational programs.
