History
Established in 1946 in Houston, Texas, TCB initially focused on general civil engineering projects in the Houston metropolitan area. In 1974, TCB Inc. was formed as the holding company for SURVCON, a professional surveying company, and Turner Collie & Braden Inc.
SURVCON was formed from the mapping, surveying, and construction practices in 1974 and is one of the largest surveying and mapping firms in the nation, with licensed surveyors throughout the United States.
In the mid-1990s, P&D Consultants, a planning and engineering firm with offices on the West Coast, became part of TCB’s organization. One of the original AECOM founding companies, P&D Consultants have expertise in resort and community development, environmental documentation, and water resources.
In 2005, TCB acquired J. F. Thompson Inc., a Houston-based engineering firm, with 100 employees, and appointed James F. Thompson, PE, as TCB’s new President.
