QFX (band)

QFX is a dance music group from Hawick, Scotland & Newcastle, England and played from 1994-2002. There music style is a mix of Happy Hardcore and Techno.

QFX Band members include Kirk Turnbull (producer), Steven Lawes (MC, keyboards), Debbie Hudspeth (vocals), Lorna (vocals), Stevie Scott (dancer from 2000-2002), David Goonery (dancer) and Brian Nelly (dancer).

In December 2000 they released their first album entitled 'Freedom'. 'Freedom' reached number 5 in the U.K. Independent Chart. Freedom stayed on the Top 20 list for 14 weeks. In January 2001, QFX covered the Moby track 'Every Time You Touch Me' which shot QFX straight into the U.K. Top 40 list at number 22. This cover gave QFX their first U.K. Top 40 hit. In July 2001 the band released 'You Got The Power' entering the band on the top list once again at number 33. Since then they have had many additional songs that entered the U.K. charts. QFX also remixed additional songs for other artists, one including Gala with 'Freed From Desire RMX'. With this remix, QFX peaked at number 2 and spent 14 weeks in the UK Top 40 in November 2002.

To date, QFX have released 5 albums and 10 U.K. top 40 singles. They have been featured on over 20 compilation albums world wide and have over 6 million record sales world wide. QFX have played over 1000 live shows and have had more hits than any other Scottish dance artist and received more awards than any other Scottish dance act.

Currently in 2008, QFX is preparing for there biggest year to date with over 5 major dates booked and are also recording a new album and filming music videos. In December 2008 QFX will release a new album entitled 'QFX Greatest Hits' which will include all the QFX hits plus all of their remixes and will feature special guest remixes, producers, and vocalists.
