Yurécuaro is a town in the
Mexican state ofMichoacán .Yurécuaro means "Place of growing" "Lugar de crecientes o lugar junto al rio".
It is located at northwest of the state, in a height of 1530 on the level of the sea.
It limits to the north with the state of
Jalisco , at west withLa Piedad , at south withEcuandureo and to the west withTanhuato . The distance to thestate capital Morelia is 136 miles.The city was founded in 1559 by Viceroy Don Luis de Velasco.
This town has some of the most beautiful crystal and silver jewelry.
