- Wulsin (Abbot Ulsinus)
Wulsin (also known as Abbot Ulsinus) was a
10th century Abbot of St Albans Abbey,England , and, according to the 13th century chroniclerMatthew Paris , foundedSt Albans School there in948 which is still active. In the same year he also founded three churches on the main entrances to the medieval town - St Peter's, St Stephen's and St Michael's - to welcomepilgrim s on their way to the shrine of St Alban. The town ofSt Albans grew around these establishments.
