Jim Cox (American politician)

Jim Cox (American politician)

State Representative Jim Cox is a Pennsylvania statesman who represents the 129th legislative district in Pennsylvania.

Cox formerly served as the chief of staff for state Rep. Samuel E. Rohrer, a Robeson Township Republican. After working for seven years behind the scenes in Harrisburg, Spring Township Republican Jim Cox started his own legislative career. The western Berks County seat he holds had been held by Rep. Sheila M. Miller, a Tulpehocken Township Republican, since 1992. She did not seek re-election.

Cox's conservative philosophy and priorities include protecting property rights, passing a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman and strengthening Pennsylvania's abortion-control laws. Cox opposes embryonic stem-cell research. He also served as the executive director of the Commonwealth Caucus, a coalition of conservative state House members.
