Bacon's College

Bacon's College is a secondary school and sixth form college in England, located in Rotherhithe, London.

Bacon's College was one of the handful of CTC's, however it officially changed to Academy Status in 2007.

History

Founded in 1703 by Josiah Bacon, the college enjoyed its Tercentenary in 2003, and held a grand Founder's Day service in St Paul's Cathedral to celebrate the event.

Information on the College

Bacon's City Technology College opened on its current Rotherhithe site in 1991, moving from its old building in Bermondsey. Bacon’s College is a high achieving 11 – 18 Church of England sponsored Academy. The College opened in 1991 in the heart of London Docklands with a fine new building. The College has excellent and outstanding facilities and resources.Every year 180 students are admitted into the Academy, beginning their school lives at Bacons.

Students are taught:English; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Religious Education; History; Design and Technology; Modern Languages (French, German or Spanish); Geography; Art and Textiles; Physical Education; Media Studies; and Music.
