Steve Dickson is a member of the
Queensland State Parliament. He represents the Sunshine Coast seat of Kawana. He is a member of the Liberal Party. On the 31st of March 2008, he threatened to quit the Liberal party and instead change to the National party, or a new conservative party, if the Queensland Liberal party members are not allowed to vote on the proposition of a merger between the Queensland Liberal Party and the Queensland National party [http://thedaily.com.au/news/2008/mar/31/dickson-vows-quit-libs-over-merger-row/] . However, he later decided to stay in the party and fight for the merger from within the Liberal party.
