Tamiya TXT-1

The Tamiya TXT-1, which stands for Tamiya eXtreme Truck, is Tamiya's current and most advanced 1/10 scale radio controlled Monster Truck. The TXT-1 has a cantilever suspension design which allows for large amount of suspension articulation. This can be modified for high speed running by removing the Cantilevers and running the shocks verticly from the axle to the chassis which will reduce body roll and increase stability. This allows for the truck to be used for a multitude of fun driving. The truck has a pair of twin 540 size stock closed endbell motors, that are centrally mounted in the chassis, you can change the gear ratio for more power or for faster running. The motors are fed through a centrally mounted transmission which has driveshafts that go to the axles. This setup allows for very realistic driving characteristics. The Truck has the option to be run with four wheel steering or two wheel steering. The truck is very easily customized and can be made to do most anything the driver wants it to do. The stock speed is 7mph, but with modifications 40mph is easily attainable. The truck is electric, and comes with a mechanical speed control, plastic shocks, phillips head screws and bushings. All of these are replaceable with better parts, as well as many other different hop up goodies. The truck can be made waterproof and the truck can float for a small amount of time. The TXT-1 is very popular with Robotics projects as an offroad go anywhere exploratory robot.
