Schuyler Chapin

Schuyler Chapin

Schuyler Garrison Chapin (born 13 February 1923) is a former Commissioner of Cultural Affairs for New York City during the administration of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

He was previously General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera, succeeding Sir Rudolf Bing.

In 1995, he married Catia Z. Mortimer in a ceremony at Gracie Mansion at which Mayor Giuliani officiated.

He has written several books, including "Leonard Bernstein: Notes From a Friend" (he was a personal friend of Bernstein).
