Seaplane Squadron RAAF was a
Royal Australian Air Force flight training squadron. Seaplane Squadron was formed on16 February 1934 atRAAF Base Point Cook as part of No. 1 Flying Training School. The Squadron was equipped withSupermarine Southampton flying boats and was responsible for training aircrew to operate seaplanes and supporting theRoyal Australian Navy . The Squadron also frequently conducted survey flights over remote parts of Australia and mapped the Darwin to Sydney section of theBritish Empire Air Mail route. Seaplane Squadron was disbanded on30 June 1939 .References
