Earl Roy Curry (
July 2 ,1890 -September 25 ,1980 ) is best remembered for his publications on spiritual subjects.Born in Pennsylvania, Curry joined the
Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (laterCommunity of Christ ) in 1908. Shortly thereafter, in 1911 he moved toKirtland, Ohio .From 1929 - 1957, Curry functioned as the Bishop's Agent for the
Kirtland Temple . This meant he was in charge of repairs and restoration on the Temple. With a degree inCeramic Engineering , Earl worked day in, day out on every inch of the Temple and can be credited with helping to ensure the survival of the 170 year old building.In the midst of his work, Curry meditated on spiritual questions, frequently on the third floor of the Temple. His questions in regards to the Divine Endowment resulted in the publication of nearly 30 books, many of which continue to be influential in various
