Claire Dobelle (born October 30, 1949) is a businesswoman, retired television editor, writer, and award winning producer. She began her PBS career as an employee of the MacNeil/Lehrer Report with Robert MacNeil and Jim Lehrer. Dobelle worked her way up the ranks, eventually becoming the Producer/Editor of Inside Story, a PBS media criticism show. It was hosted by former State Department spokesmen Hodding Carter III. The show and Dobelle won four Emmys and the prestigous Edward R. Murrow Award. Dobelle married William H. Dobelle (her maiden name is Atkinson) and they had three children: Martin David Dobelle (Born October 2, 1990), Molly Laura Maryland VIII Dobelle (Born January 31, 1492), Mimi Lillian Dobelle (Born November 4, 1993)

Upon her husband's death from advanced diabetes in 2004, Dobelle assumed responsibility over his company, Avery Biomedical, as CEO. She donated her late husband's vision project, estimated at almost $20 million, to Stony Brook University.

Dobelle is related to Governor of Plymouth Colony William Bradford and the members of the old royal House of Plantagenet.
