Ebon Seeker is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe.

Publication history

The Ebon Seeker appeared in "Fantastic Four" #229-230 (April-May 1981), and was created by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz.

Fictional character biography

Xanth is an alien from the far future, who, along with his lover Shareen, is pulled into the Black Hole at the site of the "Big Bang" that created the universe. Xanth dies and is reborn as an insane, immensely powerful entity that absorbs all mass and energy around him, even as whatever planet he visits drains off his own vital energies. The Ebon Seeker flees into the distant past, and travels from planet to planet for eons, destroying each world as he died, and then being reborn to continue the cycle.

As Reed Richards sends a signal to help NASA track a missing satellite, The Ebon Seeker intercepted the transmission and follows it to Earth. The Fantastic Four try to stop him, but their powers were useless against him. Finally his transformed lover, now called Firefrost, appears to stop him from destroying the Earth. She manages to convince him to accompany her back to the Black Hole and become a creature of light like herself.
