The youngest of four children, Xanthe (pronounced 'ZANTHEE') was born inLondon, England and attendedBenenden School in Kent andEdinburgh University . She is the granddaughter of AmbassadorCharles Burke Elbrick .Elbrick made her Broadway debut starring in the Broadway production of "Coram Boy", for which she received a
Tony Award nomination, for Best Featured Actress in a Play, aDrama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Performance and for which she won theTheatre World Award .She trained at the
Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London, and TheActors Studio Drama School (MFA) in New York City. She previously graduated with aMaster of Philosophy from theUniversity of Edinburgh (2000), where she was also Director of theEdinburgh Footlights Theatre Company.
